I know we can't go out, no pubs are open of restaurants but we'll be doing as we always do, send for a Chinese ,open a bottle of good wine and chill, Mr B normally watches Jules Holland's Hootenanny-and I'm usually tucked up in bed, I can't remember the last time I saw the new year in, probably the Millennium, whatever you'll be doing, I hope it's a good one for all of you, next year has sure to be better :0)

I was quite surprised to see all the shops in a local trading estate still open - in a "Tier 3" area.

i will go to bed early as i have been doing for months, in the vain hope of sleeping through, No celebrations and haven't done for some years. Only when at brothers has there been a NY drink up, and that's years ago.

To me it is a bloke's name Nye, short for Anuerin as in Aneurin Bevan.
