Eleanor; Being not very nice is not meant to be an insult, it's just what ambitious young men with pushy wives do to achieve their aims. If only I had done the same!
Err any chance of a photo of him in those tight trousers then ? Asking for a friend ...
eleanor - // I can remember a single with a deep blue centre and red bits? Or were his singles all that colour? //

No, the original singles and albums were on the independent Fly label -

I can remember tearing along that stretch of road in Barnes one night duty on an emercall and coming over the bump and finding the road covered with fans sitting, lying and standing around chatting.
Much heavy braking and shouting of 'advice' ensued...
I haven't heard or read anything regards him being that way athiest. Intrigued.
On wow andy! I only ever bought the other, how interesting.
That's a great upload andy, very clear.

I disagree - ambition does not automatically include an unpleasant personality, which Bolan defintely was.

John Peel in particular was deeply hurt when, after his much-needed support to Tyranosaurus Rex in the early days, including insisting on them being taken as a support act with his roadshow for university and college gigs, Bolan blanked him when he was famous.

Peel recounts in his autobiography that, having rung Bolan's flat and asking to speak to him, Peel heard Bolan's voice say "Tell him I'm not in." and they never spoke again.

The experience hurt Peel so much that he vowed that he would never become personally close to any musician ever again, and he never did.

Even his relationship with Mark E Smith, whose Fall band Peel worshipped like no other, ever, was confined to stilted chats on the few occasions they met, and as a mark of real connection as far as Peel went with musicians, an occasional manly punch on the shoulder.
What an eye opener that is, that's a bubble burst after all these years.
Eleanor, try Tony Visconti's autobiography. Sadly, the only chance I had to meet Marc was when our wags and manager went to a Visconti party to watch an evening of Monty Python video tapes (when the technology was in its infancy, and when we were schlepping around Cornwall playing our b**s off) and so my views are based on secondhand reports. Apart from when I read TV's autobiog and skipped over my few lines and read about Marc's relationship with Tony. For some reason MB wasn't at the party David threw when he came back on the Orient Express, and to which he kindly invited lesser mortals like me for old times' sake.

Sorry about that.

From my very considerable experience of interacting with famous people - fame simplty exagerates existing personality traits.

The nice remain nice, because it is how they have always been, and they see no reason to change.

The nasty are indulged to the hilt, and it increases their unpleasntness, mainly becauase anyone who continues to object to their icreasingly unpleasant attitudes and behaviour, simply disappears from their orbit, leaving a coterie of people who, if the star was to void their lunch on a Persian carpet, would advise said star that his or her, action was good for the pile.
Oh well worth a try !!

Huh! I never liked him!..
Lol..
Thanks jim, Athiest & andy, very interesting. I can get that andy.
burly .. ha ha!
Another bubble burst patsy?
Question Author
Yes, there's seems to be a lot of bubbles burst lately!.. :-)
I remember Tyrannosaurus Rex, far out man ( joss sticks and wacky baccy and all the rest of that hippy carp ), not my scene. Couldn't believe it when he married the singer of a Northern soul classic.
I never saw genius there, and hated that vibrato voice.
Nah! Not for me :-(
