Am sitting in my car waiting for lights to turn etc, am parallel to a bus terminal with the usual patrons sitting on the bench. A thing caught my eye and it was a beautiful white crotchet blanket across the knee of a bald headed guy in a T shirt and shorts. He bends down to his rucksack and produces a crotchet hook and proceeds to crotchet away.

Anyhoo - referring to Aran knitting - I watched the niece of my very beloved stand-in/mother knitting Aran with one arm. She fell into a fire in a lowly house and burnt her arm off. She was unbelievable in holding 3 knitting needles. She held one of the needles under her arm/shoulder. Incredible to watch.

We drove to the local testing place, and our car died on the way.
A car pulled up, and four seriously salty looking guys got out and advanced towards us, looking really menacing.
They could not have been more helpful - they pushed our car to a safe place, jump started it, and when they found out where we were going, they wished us every good wish for the future.
As you say, never judge a book ...
Actually, I experience that regularly when i attend extreme metal gigs as a music writer.
I look like a retired bank manager, I have a Number One, glasses, and I'm sixty-six - I look like someone's grandad who has turned up early to pick up his grandson and friends.
