237SJ //The 1970's was the decade of the worst songs ever.//
And yet the best decade for music, imnshi.
Worked in a Chinese restaurant in the early seventies. The waiters, all of them, while cleaning and prepping, sang 'why you daddy gone, daddy gone, why you mammy gone, mammy gone' practically non stop for years. Not the whole song. Not the right words. Never a different song.
It's a great wonder I remained sane.
I bumped into Chuck Berry in the 1970's and so took the opportunity to get his autograph. When I got home, I thought, so what am I going to do with this then? So I ripped it up and binned it. It's a good job it wasn't worth a fortune!
There was a guy who hung out with the Beatles in the early days & as Lennon was scribbling & discarding ideas for lyrics this guy scooped them up & threw them in the fire. Woulda been worth a fortune today!
