Whos better - the Beatles or The Stones????

i think i've said this somewhere before but music isn't a competition. everyone will have favourites but if your talking about chart sucsesses then the beatles walk it. they win No1's by 17 to 8 weeks on chart 456 to 366 but lose on total hits 34 to 48. maybe Keef deserves an award though for still being alive.

It depends on the modd you're in, what day it is, how old you are ... the variations are endless! I remember the original 'Beatles v Stones' media war cooked up in the 1960's, and you could comply with your parents by liking the smooth polite Beatles, or upset them by loving the roughneck uncouth Stones. What was not made clear was that The Stones were the middle-class southern smoothies who liked the blues, and The Beatles were Scouse roughnecks who loved rock and roll, so each got the opposite image - to their mutual advantage. Rock and roll eh!
