Wasn't sure where to put this.
My son and his friend are supposed to see Ricky Gervais tomorrow in Cardiff. Friend purchased tickets with Viagogo on line. Tickets still haven't showed up. I think son said they download them once sent.
I've just read that Viagogo is not an official site, it's a third selling agency that sell tickets that people don't want and sell them on for a profit. The friend keeps ringing and complaining, but they assure him they will get them! So disappointing.. Anyone know or had experience with Viagogo??
I have just looked at the Viagogo site and clicked on Gervais at Cardiff tomorrow.
It clearly says resale of tickets is strictly forbidden and the buyer needs to be accompanied by the original owner of the tickets. The buyer may be refused entry.
I did read that just now Barry. Even if tickets turned up at the last minute, they would be unable to get in!
Such a shame. My son was so looking forward to it.
I was wondering, if there's any chance of getting their money back?
Thanks for your reply.
Just read that Barry. It said seller needs to be there to affirm the tickets was purchased from him/her.
The tickets sold out very quickly, that's why they used this trading agent.
They paid £200 each, and also booked and paid accommodation fir the night.
I hope they can somehow get their money back. Will look into it.
No one uses paper tickets now. They’re all downloaded or emailed.
I’ve sold tickets on Viagogo. All sent by internet links. Your son can turn up at the venue, but there will be no one there with his tickets.
He needs to get on to Viagogo about this. I had a problem with selling one pair of tickets where I missed a dot in someone’s email address and they didn’t get them. Viagogo refunded them and I lost out on the value of them because of my stupid mistake.
Interesting. Read the bad reviews, Barry on trust pilot.
Well they might as well turn up, as they've booked a place to stay for the night. I wonder if seller turns up??
I understand, as you've pointed out, Barry, that's the only way to get refund, after being refused entry. I see a lot of countries are not allowed to do this sort of trading.
Yes, they do Lcg. Friend booked it, as they love Ricky Gervais. They were going to have a few drinks and a laugh. Also booked place to stay the night.
Looks like they have been scammed. It makes my blood boil!
Oh well, a lesson learned, I suppose..
