Tesco said: “We’re recalling one date code of Tesco Creamfields grated cheddar 500g. This is because it may contain small pieces of clear, soft plastic which could make the product unsafe to eat.”
The product affected is 500g Creamfields grated cheddar, with a best-before date of 23/03/23.
Because if they are like me, it’s too easy just to cut a piece off a block of cheese!! With grated cheese I find I don’t ‘pick’ so don’t eat so much. No will power unfortunately!
Tesco do a nice grated cheese+mozzarella* mix that sprinkles well on pizzas (along with the pineapple of course), melts quickly and is tasty. By the time I grate cheese by hand the food's usually halfway to cold.
Helly. Then just buy a block and grate some of into a container. Put block back in fridge and don't waste money. It takes very little time and effort. :0).
//I can never understand why people buy grated cheese!//
I can never understand why people buy cheese at all. But then I have a cheese allergy which is quite handy because I cannot stand the taste or even the smell of the stuff.
Lot of unjustified hype over cheese - basically spoiled milk that anyone with any sense would pour down the nearest drain rather than put it on their Cornflakes. Perhaps the plastic in the cheese that is the subject of this warning may make it slightly less unpalatable.
My mum used to hide the cheese from me because I was always cutting huge chunks of it to eat, especially when I got home from school. And I was a skinny child!
