Some on these pages know that i always put a tenner on Burnley no matter who we are playing. If i believe we can win a game, then i will usually plump for a 2-1 scoreline, always at decent odds.
If we are playing one of the top 6 away from home, i plump for BTTS & Draw. If we're at home against 5 of those top teams, i will back us to win. The exception is tonight's opponents Man City, and as soon as the fixtures were released, i knew i'd be going for BTTS & Draw, which i've done @ 6/1.
Enter Willy Hill with their Epic Value bet, going 1/1 on a City win. Burnley are newly promoted, lots of new faces have arrived, one or two regulars are injured. City are the reigning Champions of both the Premier League and the European Champions League, in addition to being the FA Cup holders. They have beaten us 11 times on the spin, scoring 40 goals (we have replied with just the one goal during that period) and, of course, they have a certain Erling Haaland banging goals in left, right and centre.
Everything points to a City win and, while i have never previously backed against the Clarets, i have my pragmatic optimist's head on today.
I cannot see us beating them; the best we can do is a draw (imho) and that would be good if both teams were to score. However, on the flipside, i decided to place the Epic Value bet which, if/when successful, would ensure that i come out level at the end of play.
I just hope none of my friends and family read this:-((

William Hill are offering 9-2 for a draw and 8-1 for a Burnley win.
So you bet:
£10 on Man city to win = a potential return of £20.00.
£4.00 on a draw = a potential return of £22.00.
£2.50 on Burnley to win = a potential win of £22.50.
In each case you'll get back more than your total stake of £16.50.
I know it's not much, but a guaranteed win against the bookies .... what's not to like :)
