What was the name of the film in which the song 'Any umbrellas to mend today' was performed?

"The Umbrella Man" was certainly used in the 1986 TV version of Dennis Potter's "The Singing Detective" but I am not aware of it being used in the 2003 film version.

"Umbrella man" was written by Bud Flanagan in the 1930s and used in a number of films during the '30s and '40s. I heard Bud sing this in the early 1960s performing with Chesney Allen at Butlins! This was for a recording of a seaside variety show for tv. Does anyone know any more about this recording? I've not been able to find any reference to it in the web.

there have been 2 "umbrella man" songs, both with different lyrics. That which contains the line "any umbrellas, any umbrellas, to mend today" was written by Larry Stock, Vincent Rose and James Cavanaugh in 1938. Its release co-incided with umbrella-toting Neville Chamberlain's trip to Munich for the phoney peace accord, and the British public quickly associated the 2.
