Which is the best echo show with the best sound

Going by the comparison chart towards the bottom of this link, the Echo Show 8 (third generation) has the best sound.

The good thing about Amazon though is the no quibble return policy if you find it doesn't meet your needs

A fairly large screen barry, the eyes are not what they use to be.

Can I ask what you want it for?  What you expect to do with it

General stuff really, play music, look up recipes, I want to put it in the kitchen, for when I'm cooking or ironing etc.

Frankly I'd use my laptop or tablet for those things. Seems like you need the Echo Show 15, the biggest screen but too expensive for my liking especially as it is 3 years old.  How long will Amazon keep updating it for?

The 8 is a good price but I'm not sure if and 8" screen would be big enough, it's not much bigger than my mobile phone.  The Echo 10 is also 3 years old.

I have the echo show 8 big enough for me screen measures 8x5 ins. But yes you get 10 and 15 but a lot more expensive depends on what you want it for.

Pardon me for being a bit thick, but I struggle to find out what it actually does (in layman's term).

Mostly radio really but do use quite a lot for recipes. Like it for weather reports, reminders, as a timer for anything as my memory not the best. Also put all my appointments on it. Grandchildren loves playing games on it. Also ask loads of questions as you would using google.

I have an Echo and Dot which are very useful for my lifestyle.  Reminders for the many meds and eye drops I dispense every day, as well as appointments and 'things to do'.

I use it as a oldster monitor so I can check on them when they're in bed.

They are connected to my doorbell so I can hear it all over the house.

They play my music, answer my many questions to save my sanity. They control some of my lights.

I've thought about getting one with a big screen but resisted so far

I also use mine to view my outdoor cameras. Also for my shopping list. Brilliant as a radio so clear all stations I like boom radio songs I grew up with. Love Tony Blackburn sounds of the 60's Saturday morning 6 to 8 but I listen later in the day. Love it as can get any previous played recording or podcasts.

I use my screen for viewing all my recipes, video calling, seeing who is at my door checking outside cameras, also you can check on-screen your appointments and reminders shopping list. Loads really. Asking questions like show me it will show on screen anything you ask list is endless. I have show 8 in kitchen and show 5 in sitting room would not be without them. Reminders I depend on it a lot also appointments.
