//We are very grateful to the United States for all the support. I’m thankful to President Trump, Congress for their bipartisan support, and American people. Ukrainians have always appreciated this support, especially during these three years of full-scale invasion.//

americans made a terrible mistake at the presidential election and the western world suffers for it

He's very gracious but also resolute and I am glad he has refused to apologise to Trump for what was essentially and ambush by POTUS and his sycophant-in-chief, Vance. If only the others could demonstrate such diplomacy and resolve.

Your opinion.

yes clone everything i write is my opinion. you can tell by the fact that it has my username next to it. i had thought that was obvious.

I think Zelenskyy will go down in history as a greater Leader than Trump. Trump is right about certain things - immigration being one of them - but clearly he will let nothing stand in the way of what he wants and if he has to throw VZ and Ukraine under the bus, so be it. He is a multi-dimensional character is POTUS.

Think Zelensky has shown how a true diplomat and gentleman should behave in the face of adversity.

I too think the Americans made a big mistake in their choice of president but they will have to live with it.  Unfortunately the rest of the world won't be able to escape the ripple effect.

If Harris had won, America and Europe would have carried on giving enough support to Ukraine for a continuation of the war, but not enough to achieve anything.

I'm puzzled how that approach seemed to attract no criticism. I wonder if Trump would have attracted criticism if he decided to carry on the status quo.

It may be terrible for Ukraine & maybe for Europe but at least Trump - however cack-handedly -  is trying to end the stalemate & thus the continuing loss of life.

How long would the war go on if the West simply continued supporting Ukraine's armed struggle & how many more killed on both sides & how much more property destroyed.

It's got to stop.

The USA had to get out of Vietnam realising they were losing & the cost was too high. The West lost in Afghanistan et al. It's not always the good guys who come out on top even if we want it to be.

Clone, I  agree.

I'm not too sure Trump was aware that Europe loaned and US gifted which might have irked the US a wee bit when they found out recently.

Away with the fairies. Hypocrisy abounds.

Wish we had a definitive link for that Alba.

Wish I could find a link to Zelensky calling Vance a female dog in Russian OG. That might put a different slant on a few things. :)

"f Harris had won, America and Europe would have carried on giving enough support to Ukraine for a continuation of the war, but not enough to achieve anything."

the existing approach had inflicted enormous losses on Russia and reduced their invasion to a bloody stalemate including an invasion of their own territory. it set a clear precedent that such predatory aggression will not succeed. it made nato considerably stronger and gave it a new sense of purpose.

the new approach will set a very different precedent. it will reward russian aggression and all but invite it to happen again.

also it must be remembered that it was republicans in congress last year doing everything they could to reduce military aid to ukraine so blaming the democrats for it is pretty rich

Well, many have said this war was provoked by the west to weaken Russia.

Trump has his eyes on the Noble Peace Prize

is that what you believe clone?

I believe there was huge interference from the West. You would be mad not to think that.

that is fair, i have a lot of sympathy with that view. that being said no amount of provocation by the west could possibly justify the invasion in 2022 and now that has happened it should be deterred from happening again. trump isn't doing that and the existing plan was.

//Trump - however cack-handedly - is trying to end the stalemate & thus the continuing loss of life.//

Oh yeah, the loss of life keeps him awake at night I'm sure. Such a sensitive soul.

Excuse me while I pmsl.
