Good Morning SS Great Britain - Aztec Camera
Temple Meads of Love - Sisters of Mercy
Cotham City - R Kelly
Windmill Hill of Your Mind - Noel Harrison
Frenchay kissin' In The USA - Debbie Harry

and of course....

anything by Clifton Richard.

There was also Bristol Stomp by 'The Late Show' which reached no.40 in 1979 apparently. I certainly don't remember that one! - too busy listening to The Clash and Sham 69 !!

Does anything by Portishead count or is that stretching it a bit?

Boo! Hiss!, Craig007, if that's the case, then you can have Severn Seas by Echo & The Bunnymen (great band) and, I suppose, Severn Tears by The Goombay Dance Band. (Who? You say? - you're bloody lucky you don't know !!)

(Nothing against Portishead btw. - band or place - just not sure if it counted as Bristol !!)

The Colours, by The Men They Couldn't Hang.

It isn't about Bristol, but it does contain the line:

'If I starved on the streets of Bristol, I starved worse on a British Ship'.

c.1986. An absolute classic, with a very patriotic sound to it. Go for the 7" version, as the album version obmits the brilliant ending.
