this is a long shot, but does anyone know who may have sang this song? it was on an old tape i got given years ago with no title on it & i cant get it out of my head. i cant remember much, but it was a man singing & some lyrics went "did you know they clean the tracks at night until they shine" & "dont you try to save that anchor from drowning cos- it wont work. some thing something something & my heart still hurts".

another song was about glamour as in cigarettes. please help.
