I used to know the answer to this but I've forgotten... Does anyone know who made those strange shaped drums you sometimes saw in the 70's and 80's? The best way I can describe them is that the bottoms of the shells were 'bent' out towards the front and slightly 'squashed', the bass drum having this 'squashed' appearance as well. I think they might have been made by the old Italian Hi-Percussion company, but I'm not sure...
Were they 'Sonor' drums? I think I know the drums you mean, with the horn-shaped shells to project the drum-sound forward. Usually used by new-wave or progressive bands? Not at all sure about this, matty.
