Johnny Cash / C&W song

Does anyone know the name of a song (possibly by Johnny Cash) about a bloke who works in a car factory and steals bit-by-bit the components needed to make his own car? TA xxx

The song is called 'One Piece At A Time' and if I remember correctly, it was inspired by a number of Detroit workers who were actually doing just that - but got caught before they completed their car.

Michelle Shocked recorded a cracking version of 'one piece at a time' for a Johnny Cash tribute album, called 'The Man In Black'. I can't remember who also appears on the album, bar Marc Almond.
