Soap's Bert Campbell's US Comedy Series
7 Answers
I've been trying to remember the title of a US comedy series that went out on UK TV about 10 or 15 years ago, which featured Bert Campbell, from the 'Soap' series, as the central character. I seem to recall it was just called 'Bert', but there don't seem to be any references to it in any of the obvious places. I also recall that it was very funny, and I'm trying to find out if it's been issued on DVD. Does anybody remember this one?

Seems from what I can gather, the series was called 'Empty Nest', though I'm not sure if that title rings a bell because I watched it and liked it, or if I didn't see it, but it was just very popular at the time. I recall one episode where he had a baseball bat which I think had belonged to a famous player, and which he was very proud to own, and for some strange reason, all the other characters in the episode kept calling him 'Bat' instead of Bert. Does this sound like the right series to anybody?
