Didn't Long John Baldry do a song called "Mexico"? - may have been the theme for the BBC/ITV coverage of '68 Olympics. Apart from the word "Mexico" I can't recall any of the lyrics, but it may be the one.

That song is the excellent (and appropriately titled) "Mexico" by Irish singer Mundy, from county Offaly. You may remember him from the Romeo and Juliet soundtrack, singing "to you I bestow". They're both on the excellent album "24 Star Hotel". Hope this helps.
