Why do new bands make a second album?
They r so crap!
ie - Hard-fi , The kooks , Raconteurs.
B4 any one says money i know that but why?
They really shud'nt bother!!!!

It could be that these "new" bands have a back-log of great songs that they wrote in the 15 years before they were discovered! So they had a lot of choice and good songs to record on their first album. Then they are pressured by their record company to record another one quick quick quick, if the first one was successful. As a result they haven't had time to write proper brilliant songs, so they churn them out, and the songs are just not as good quality as the first ones.

I've heard some of these 'new' bands and I don't know why they bothered making the first one, let alone the second !.

most of these bands have very little if any songwiting/musical talent thats why.

give something enough radio airplay and idiot dj's telling you what a brilliant record/band etc they are (hype) and people will believe its good and buy it, and also what whattheheck said.
