What do you think of Amy Winehouse? Do you think shes a complete mess and her life isnt too great? Or do you think shes amazing and beautiful and deserves supporting fans? What do u think?? x

She's a mess, and a very bad role model. It is time people stopped buying her music, and showed her that they will not tolerate her behaviour.

Of course that is just my opinion, but as long as people continue to buy they just support her habbit.

BUT.....many famous people through history have produced wonderful poems, music, art or whatever, but they had all sorts of problems like alcoholism, drugs, wife beating, fancying young children etc.

Many were not very nice people.

Dylan Thomas was a drunkard and probably drank himself to death.

Lewis Carroll (Charles Dodgson) had a penchant for young girls and often photographed them nude or semi nude.

Charles Chapin also liked "young girls" and many of his leading ladies were groomed by him when they were in their early teens.

Many famous people have drunk or drugged themselves to death, but left us with great works of art.

She can look beautiful and she has a great voice but all her "body art" does nothing for me

She's to be pitied.

She's famous and she means money to a lot of people besides herself. She has people around her (her more intimate entourage) who purport to be acting in her best interests. I ask, is that her interests or their own? Because whilst she's on the front of all the papers, these peoples' bank balances are staying healthy. And if letting her destroy herself achieves that end then they're not going to stop her.

I say this because I've met her and my bloke worked with her briefly just before her fall from grace. Whilst she was no lady and certainly didn't stand on ceremony, she came across as a lovely, unspoilt girl with time for her fans and respect for those working around her. Certainly not the brat she's painted as.

So to answer your question, Lynsy, I say both. She is a mess and is going through hell right now. But she was, and can be again, the beautiful, talented individual she is capable of being, and she needs her fans' unfailing support if she's going to achieve that.

I think she's awful - but a very sad case. Too much too soon, and not being able to handle it.

I think she should stay off the drugs and drink and get a proper life, then she might be able to sing properly.

awesome voice but she is a right mess and a bad example to her fans. the record companies should put there foot down when it comes to ''artists'' using drugs openly i.e amy and pete dougherty and stop producing their music.

Andy-Hughes made a very good reply on this subject (although I believe that it was a different artiste) as to whether there actually is a responsibilty on the part of the artiste to function as a role-model..........
