I was 8 when they split, so there was no chance of me seeing them. Once John was killed that really was the end of any real chance of a Beatles reformation. It would never really be the Beatles without him.
One of the best live shows I have ever seen was by 70s-80s MOR / pop group The Dooleys. They were one of the best club / cabaret acts over the 2 decades and did a superb show. It was never quite the same when 3 of the members left in 1982, then 3 more left in 1985 leaving just 2 originals. Saying that, Jim and Kathy Dooley still put on a great show.
I would love to see them again, though they "retired" in 1992. Jim now runs a charity supplying motorised wheelchairs and Kathy is married to actor Andrew Mackintosh (DS Greig from The Bill).

Finally, Earth Wind and Fire. I would love to see founder of the group Maurice White back in the touring band. EWF still do a great show, but there is one element missing, and that is Maurice. He has not toured with them for a few years due to ill health, but still does most of the studio work. Last year they released an album called "The Promise" and there should be a new album next year.
Madness are without doubt the best I've ever seen. Everybody totally into it and knows it all. Another really good live band that would probably surprise alot of people are The Proclaimers. If you ever get a chance to see them I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.
I would really have liked to have seen The Who in their heyday or The Jam.
Starting off with the Eighties The Police and The Jam were superb(saw both twice). In the Nineties the best live acts I saw were Simple Minds and Simply Red. U2(Roundhay Park Leeds) were a bit of a let down at the time though they look back to their best again and in the Noughties(2000 to present) the best I've seen so far are Coldplay and Feeder. Saw the Stereophonics recently but weren't that good. Missed the Manics last time round but hope to catch them soon.
For solo acts Billy Joel in the Eighties was superb and I recently saw Alexander O'Neal who was awsome though I would say that as I'm a diehard fan of his.
Gromit - I saw The Finn Brothers in Oxford on 31st October. I love Tim, he's fab on stage and worth going to watch him alone. He really lifted the crowd and you could see he loved every minute.
Also, FP I saw Radiohead at South Park in Oxford, a huge outdoor event and they were amazing. My friend and I managed to wangle two press passes as well, so we were right close.
As a bit of side info, Thom Yorke and his bro Colin went to school in the town where I grew up. It's a posh boys only school. Although they'd have been leaving school as I started.
I have only been to one concert last year with eminem, cypress hill, xibit etc and didn't think a huge amount to htat loved the atmosphere though. I am more of a dance festival goer, Creamfields was absoloutly amazin and i can't wait for next years, the love parade was one i will also be unable to forget. I would love to go see bon jovi or the chillies one day though.........
