Quiz questions....... can anyone please help with these two questions, because to be honest they are a little too off the wall for me. 1. Which 2005 number one record in the U.K. was written by a current President ? (verbatim) and 2. Which act's name changed by one letter in the the five years between their only two top ten hits ? (verbatim) So can anyone help me pick the bones out of those ! Many Thanks

Thanks for your help MarkRae. With the second question I was working on the theory of the letter beimg dropped, not swopped. So it just shows a fresh pair of eyes reads the question differently...!!! Can I please ask you for the full site address for question 1 as I have not been able to access as stated. Just to let you know that I have gone through every song, artist and songwriter for that year and have not picked up on anything obvious, and have come here as a last resort to get someone else's slant on the questions, and I am grateful for your interest. P.S there are 300 questions like these and I have about 20 that I don't have a clue about !!!
the answer is here- the bloke who wrote James blunt's song is President of a record label now.

Thanks to everyone who replied, appreciate your help cos my brain is shattered trying to do this quiz !!!!! I will ask some of the questions I'm really stuck on.... but first I would like a bit of advice on how you all searched for this answer.... because I truly tried every combination of ways with words long and short, and it always grieves me how simple it seems for other people. I am not the most computer/internet literate person but I do like to try and do it myself, so if you are prepared to give me some hints I'd be grateful . The information is obviously there on the harder questions, but I don't usually find it, so if you don't mind sharing some of your methods!!!!. Anyway here are a few more ... I don't want to list too many in case I exceed the limit. They are all music questions: 1 Which current flavour of the month once played a member of the Von Trapp Family on the BBC ? 2.Which former Brit award-nominated artist was a member of the Denace the Menace Fan Club.? 3. Which song contains a reference to the famous palimony case of Lee Marvin ? and 4.Which pop star was once described as being a mix of Joan Crawford and Marlene Dietrich ? Thanks again
For the President question I simply did a google search on SONGWRITER PRESIDENT and the firts two results were about the person we wanted. The article also mentione dthat the song was for James Blunt and I knew he had a number one from around 2005.
Your others seem a bit more difficult- sometimes it takes luck or a hunch.
eg flavour of the month- I'd start by looking at people like Cheryl Cole, Lady Gaga, Simon Cowell, Joe McElderry and doing a combined search with Von Trapp

Ah ON THE ROAD, that time of the year again. Only help I can be is the following
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free
I am sure you know the song.
The others I am still searching for - the late publication has not really helped me and I am well behind your 20 or so you have no clue on. Good luck
(as for how I found it, I did n`t - simply something I already knew)

Thanks again everyone/ dr pop : I only ever get as close 280 out of 300, it's those 20 that sort the men from the boys, but thanks for the lyric, if I can help you please ask. / factor30 you will have to excuse my lack of savvy, but I don't know what 50W to LYL means, but thanks for the other info. Sorry Markrae but I've just realised that the rezillos/revillos didn't have any top ten singles or albums, but thanks for Mr Blunt/ and Puternut thanks for helping an old person across the net. If anyone is still there can you tell me step by (plain English) step how I key in red, the quiz site, so that you can click on it and I can show you a couple of photos I'm stuck with.
In the meantime the site is thenorthernecho.co.uk/leisure/superbrain and you will see six different categories with six sets of photos. I don't know who no.6 is in the music section She has to have some connection with the North East, as do all the people in the photos, except for the current affairs section. This isn't mentioned on the net version of the quiz, but it is in the newspaper. I know this is the music section of Answerbank, but any ideas about gen knowledge no.8 and film/tv nos. 8 and 10. I think I'd better leave it at that for now....

To create a link to another site this is what you could do. Go to the relevant page on the other site. Click on the address in the address box at the top of your screen- this should highlight the address. Using your mouse, right click on the adress and then click on COPY. This puts the adress onto your clipboard. Then go into Answerbank, type your question/answer; then right click on your mouse, click to select PASTE, and this will paste the address into your Answerbank posting. When you submit your AB entry it will include a link in red to the site you want us to see.
