Nero Freeware

Is there such a thing as Nero Freeware ? I used to have Nero on my old Windows XP which went belly up last month, I know that it was freeware. Now that I have a new PC (W 7 ) I've googled Nero & all I can seem to find is free downloads (trial period & then buy ) the version I had before was perfectly adequate for my very occasional use. TIA.

I don't personally know if there is / isn't as I only use one type of anti virus software. But I would say that either
a - Google search "nero freeware" and you should get a list of results / download links
b- go onto www.download.com and type in nero freeware and you may get a download link there (it is a 100% free download)

The free copy of nero you had probably came bundled with either a CD writer or a system with a writer in it, there is no free version of nero.

For most simple day to day burning needs ashampoo burning studio is plenty good enough for most.

society, I'm sorry if you think I have snubbed you, let me assure you it is not so.
When I had the reply from chuck it appeared the answer suited my purpose, I had already searched for free Nero & could not find it , I have since looked again & the majority appear to suggest that it can be downloaded for free trial & then purchased.

You may take a look at this download list, it collects 10 free DVD Burning software, they are totally free without any limitation and watermakr. I'm sure you will find one to burn DVD. I have scanned them with Norton Viruses Protector, they are safe and clean.
