Copyright issues
I went to a live concert the other night, and decided to take some video footage on my mobile phone as a memento. I left it right to the end of the concert because I didn't want to disturb other people around me (it can be a bit distracting), then recorded a bit. I wasn't sure it was even taking as my phone is a bit tempramental, but some security guy came over and said I must delete all the images as it was a copyright. Can he do anything about it? I've no intention of selling the clip or publishing it, its just for my own pleasure as a reminder of a nice evening.

There is nothing they can do, and I hope you have kept your souvenir. Security should be looking for anyone with professional filming gear who are covertly shooting, not the average fan who - as you were - is just getting a souvenir.

Yep, he's technically correct. He may be a jobsworth, but then again, he may just want to be seen to be doing his job. At the end of the day they do actually want people to enjoy their evening out (and he shouldn't be in the job if if he doesn't - there are plenty out there who will happily replace him), not the least because it makes life a whole lot easier for him.
I went to a concert last weekend and there was a notice up by all the doors saying that they specifically prohibited any filming or recording of the concert.
The security guy was completely right to ask you to stop and to delete what you'd already recorded. The problem is that some people will try to make money out of illegally recording concerts. I'm not saying you do - just that a blanket ban works best, otherwise how on earth would you control it?
