What are people's views on Michael Jackson?  Is he guilty of being a paedophile or is he an 'innocent overgrown child'?

I watched the Channel 4 doc last Tuesday and - even though heavily biased - it was clear that MJ is not your average bloke!  He's had young boys as friends pretty much continually for years.  I really can't understand how anyone would feel ok about letting their child sleep in the same bed.  Are people that naive?  I know that he is 'innocent till proven guilty' but I seriously have my doubts...

innocent overgrown child. Michael is innocent and it will be proven during this trial. I posted my view on 'News'. If Michael was a paedophile then there would be more evidence and more people would step forward. I believe there are just some sick people out there trying to make money. Michael has given so much to so many people and unfortunately, in the world we live in, no one says 'well-done' they just look for a way to bring good people down. It makes me sick that the media can't just leave people alone. Why do they always have to write negative things and cause everyone to have a hatred towards someone?

i am extremely sceptical about the whole thing.  On one hand, as was pointed out on the Ch4 documentary, if it was any other man who had been accused of these things he would be lynched in the street.  However, because of his wealth and celebrity status, i think some people have seen this as an oppertuinity to make a fast buck.

Personally, I think he needs to realise that building your home to include a fairground and having pre teenage friends is slightly suspect.  [Edited for legal reasons - AB Editor]

I dont know enough about the evidence against MJ to have an informed opinion either way at the moment.  My gut feel at the moment, however, is that most if not all of the claims are motivated by money. I cannot get my head around the fact that Jordy Chandlers parents negotiated a multi million pound settlement with MJ in exchange for not pursuing the matter in the criminal courts.  If I had a child who was abused in any way, sexually or otherwise, Id want to see the perpetrator tried in a criminal court. Even if, as a parent, I  acknowledged that the evidence against the perpetrator was weak, Id owe it to my child and any other children who could become his potential victims, to pursue the matter to the bitter end. It wouldnt enter my head that I should enter into negotiations to be bought off.

Take your point Miss Zippy but equally, if I were accused of molesting a child and I knew I was innocent, it would not cross my mind to offer a pay off.  I would want to ensure that my name was cleared...MJ had no such qualms it seems.

I'm not sure what kind of desperate star struck idiot parents would allow their children to spend time with a  man who could dangle a baby out a hotel window.  As a mum of a wee one about the same age, it was sickening and horrific to watch. I wouldn't need to know any more about him....in my eyes he could never be trusted with one of my chidlren if that's what he does with his own.

Tricky one, isn't it? I can't help thinking that his upbringing has had a bad effect here. Maybe his association with young boys is an attempt to live out the childhood he was denied. Even so, sharing a bed with them is asking for trouble, whether his intentions are innocent or otherwise. There will always be someone looking to make a quick buck. I agree with Miss Zippy on one point - if someone had molested a child of mine, it wouldn't be money I'd be after. Financial compensation wouldn't make other children any safer.

Personally, I'd be surprised if he's guilty, but I wouldn't rule it out. I don't have quite as much faith in him as splodge24, but then I'm not a fan of his music! I wonder how these trusting souls would feel if - that's "IF", Mr/Mrs Answerbank Editor - he did turn out to be guilty. I expect there are some Gary Glitter fans still reeling from the shock (and sadly, a few so blinkered that they probably still think he's innocent).

He's a freak and looks like sylvester stalone's mom.

But he's innocent, I think it was Michael's mum who said "would you take money from someone who abused your child?"

Who knows if MJ is innocent or not? He is a grown man, so why have young boys in your bed. If he is gay or bisexual. Why not take another grown man to bed. It does raise suspicions but I would rather wait until I hear and see all the evidence against him, if any.
