The population of Rio is keen on British rock stars, because the same city's Maracan Stadium holds the record for the biggest�pop concert paying audience. Back in 1990,�Paul McCartney�pulled in 184,000 punters�for a night of reminiscent rocking and�rolling.

If those records seem a bit out of reach, and you've got a few bob to spare, you could always have a tilt at the record for the most concerts on the most continents in 24 hours�- currently held by Sheffield metal gods Def Leppard, who managed three continents in a day. The Defs commenced in the early hours in Morocco in October 1995, before popping over to Vancouver before midnight, having already entertained a fair few fans at a gig in London on the way.��

Number one in the charts is the holy grail most pop stars aspire to, and if you want to score the most number ones as a solo artist, you'll be required to climb over the late Elvis Presley, who still holds the daunting title, with no less than 17 to his credit.

Fancy earning more in one year than any other artist The current holder of that special accolade is the French-Canadian Titanic theme songstress Celine Dion, who's ballads�saw her clear $56 million dollars in 1998.

Coming up with a name shouldn't be too hard� - have a go at cracking the late John Lennon's pseudonym total - standing at an unbeaten 15, including Dr Winston O'Boogie, Rev. Fred Ghurkin, Dwarf McDougal, and others.
