Tomorrow's strike

.. I'm working from home tomorrow as we're not clear what's happening to public transport round here (I don't want to get stranded in the office)... anyone else striking, or affected by it?

I agree re the transport being run by private companies so should be OK - it's not actually an overreaction, it's a personal choice - we're allowed to work from home so I chose today to do it. Just in case. Since I work an hour away from home, the last thing I wanted to do was to find I couldn't get home, there is no way to get there except the bus.

well it did mess up the buses, those coming your way Mark, so took yet another magical mystery tour, thank heavens didn't have a hospital appointment today, who knows where might have ended up, or indeed not getting there at all.

I live with two family members who are: both female, both teachers, both earning well over £30k, and neither can understand that if there pensions are maintained it will be by taxation from those who do not have as good conditions as they do.
It must be difficult to not receive what they were expecting but the rest of us are unable to give them more.
I suspect I will be cooking and eating on my own for some time for holding such views.

Can I ask, I think I may be in trouble. I went on strike today but arranged to do some self employed work instead. Was this allowed? What can my employer do?

Well the roads yesterday were empty. I say go on strike more often. Just to make my journey to work easier. I mean, it's no more selfish than public workers trying to protect an unsustainable pension that the private sector is subsidising.
