But don't worry. It's fine i tell you. Did you know employment is at a record high? Who'd have funked it.

I’m not sure if your issue is with the employment figures or Tesco?
But let’s go with Tesco, they are a business and if they are losing money or something is not cost effective you cannot expect them to keep going in order to save jobs, it could cripple them.

I like the fish and deli counter. Rarely use the meat one.

Well at the time figures were published perhaps that is what they found.
As for Tesco what do you expect them to do?

The problem is more fundamental - they've lost the touch and confidence that they had with customers, their centre retail space is dominated by clothing, stationery and electronics and, down here, the number of customers on the square foot of dirt is minimal - meanwhile the food shelves are understocked in comparison to their competition......I'm not surprised that they are feeling the heat in the retail kitchen.

It's what they found, but what they were looking for is anyonw with a hours worth of employment a week. Not exsactly anywhere near a living standard.

Now no meat , no fish and no deli counter, I'm going to have to buy the packet black pudding.. Buying from the counter saved a load of waste plastic. I think this will actually lose them custom, especially from their more reliable members (IE, the oldies who go in their routinely specifically for these counters).

When I used to go in the local store the counters were empty no one used them the same with Sainsbury’s. the counter goods tended to be more expensive

Paying more for the better quality.

Maybe it's unique to individual areas but where i am, usually a queue for the counter.

I like Tesco, but their changes ruin them. The meal deal changes they did recently are vile even if they are more healthy.

I guess some like change others thing if it aint broke...

the super store supermarkets kill the high street grocers/fish mongers/butchers/bakers then slowly chip away at our want for fresh produce. then kill he supply of fresh products . then we will have to buy the processed / preserved goods that hey will only sell at huge mark ups

Frozen dough makes no sense. The time taken to defrost it, they could have made some from scratch.

They cook it from frozen, Spath. Hence they can get rid of all the bakers making and baking bread and just employ someone to fill and empty ovens.

It would still take a while longer, as dough isn't that conductive, so if it's frozen the outside would be cooked before the middle is even defrosted.

They will have to let it defrost for a wee while until it's the optimum temperature.
