Not so!
Anyway it's the same old platitudes you hear from these world leaders. The only thing these COP meetings evoke is lip service from our so called political elite.
In fact, the mere flash of a gilets jaunes, and Macron is ready to do a U-turn on a sixpence.

I'm afraid it is very much so.

I agree - but that's not the point. This country should be promoting itself - and in this instance, it isn't. Someone recognisable to the world should be there. Oh hang on ….
Good old Boris. Doing his bit … again!

The Tory right were critical of Boris and his commitments to green policies. Many ABers urged him to ditch climate change pledges and net zero emissions.
Sunak is pandering to them, the right of his party. Not bothering to attend and take it seriously, is him connecting to the ymbs and NJs in his party.

Big problem is each time the Torys sack a PM he/she promotes all the MPs etc who have supported them , into the House of Lords. The H.O L is now overflowing, since 2019. There are Knights, Dames Baroness's etc, sitting on each others laps.Perhaps the Cons ought spend a few hundred billion of tax payers money to extend the H.O.L.

To BoJo's credit he did increase govt funding for offshore wind.
However he lacked the political will to see through measures to help households save energy. Amidst soaring energy prices this was clearly an opportunity missed. With tensions already running high, his renege on 'green home' grants, served only to exacerbate the green lobby groups. Hence the protests and disruption witnessed in and around London by 'Insulate Britain' and XR.
BoJo is a spent force. His reputation now precedes him.
Let him alone to write up his memoirs.

There's a load of nonsense on here regarding the UK's attendance at the Cop27 summit. Apart from Alok Sharma, we are sending the Business Secretary, the Foreign Secretary and the Environment Secretary. Sunak has only been PM for 1 week and while Cop27 is a major summit, he is perfectly right, in my view, to attend first to his job of running the country. Britain are not under represented and many would argue that the best place for Alok Sharma, Theresa Coffey, Grant Shapps and James Cleverley is out there representing the UK. Stick to your guns, Sunak.

There is no longer a place for Boris on the world stage. For that matter, his time in 'grown up' UK politics is also finished. Demoted to the back benches. It is highly unlikely he'll stand come the next GE.
// He’s still an MP //
Then let him serve matters concerning those voters who reside in the constituency he represents. To reiterate; let him alone to bow out and write his memoirs.
He’s still an MP.
