Just heard Britain is to give more aid to Afghanistan, a rise of £67 million, so not only are we paying in our young soldiers blood we are also giving them tax payers cash and at the same time English universitys are going to have enforced budget cuts.
I feel we should pull out of this chaotic piece of wasteland stuck in the middle of nowhere and worry more about our country and our people, the national security aspects are a complete sham as any training camps for terrorists would have been moved to other countries many years ago.

Yes and if we pull out they will have a whole new (old?) training groung to occupy.

Count,,,hmmmm explain what you mean as somalia is there biggest training ground ?
Yes you have to ask what would happen.

Obviously the Taliban would take control of the whole country and Al Qaeda would have a safe haven.

Yes they already do in Somalia and parts of Yemen - but Afghanistan has the Pakistani border which is just perfect for them.

Some way of avoiding this must be found and that probably involves money
Exactly jake.
I think Count Armstrong clearly means that they are gone now but would be back as soon as the West is gone
The Taliban is not the right enemy for us to be fighting.

We need to get some sort of stability in place, some sort of security that will stop it becoming another Somalia

That probably means a government including the Taliban
Hence the 67 mill investment. I think the 'Northern Ireland' technique of including the more moderate factions of terrorist cells is the only way.

We give alot of money to the Afghans already plus we give the blood of our sons and daughters, why should Britain be the purse of the world, you dont hear of france or germany giving massive hand outs to anyone, why do we ?

The stopping of terrorism is a lame argument, the majority of terrorists that threaten any country are home grown, if we spent that money on culling the terrorist threat from our own people that would be a much better idea.
Virtually every 'home grown' terrorist has attended a training camp abroad. By eradicating them in foreign countries we therefore stop terrorism at it's source.

This is a controversial point and I'm sure one you may not agree with but:
If you don't want to be killed fighting for your country - don't join the armed services. This does NOT mean i do not appreciate the effort and sacrifice which is being made, or have sympathy for the bereaved freinds and family.

Question Author
No need mate, i could never change you opinion so i wouldnt bother me ass trying to .
Then why ask for peoples views? Go on have a go!
Question Author
Count your well known so i really can not be asked to bother with answering you, i would rather chat to people without issues such as yours.
Question Author
Any other views apart from myself and the counts ?
But surely when you asked for other peoples views you didn't expect everyone to agree with you?
Question Author
Count i dont want no one to agree with me, but i have heard your view already, i didnt ask the question for an argument or to prove a point i asked it to get others views on this subject not just yours.
There's a big difference between argument and debate. I am always open to other peoples views and would welcome yours.
