perhaps if Londoners move out it's because they have seen what a
s hitehole it's become, or that it's full to brimming, some will want to move as Yorkshire folk do for a better paid job, or a more quiet life, wonder how many Yorkshire folk live in London, does anyone notice, care. Where once it was Scottish, Irish, Welsh, English shuffling around the British Isles for work, better life, now it's not, it's many people from many places, the EU has had a major impact, not to mention those that have come from the subcontinent, Africa in recent years.
Yorkshire folk generally have much more sense.

We're on the same wavelength Emmie.
having stayed in Yorkshire for a time, i can attest that some don't, no more than any other person on the planet. Some i met on my travels were insular and unwelcoming, most were lovely people.
don't know about wavelength, this debate will never end.
Awww emmie, please find your funnybone again. Just for me. Huh?
gone with the wind mate. Weather foul. winter a drag and no peace health wise, it's a bummer as our American friends would say
i loved every place stayed in Yorkshire, a good friend lived up near where they filmed Last of the Summer Wine, blessed countryside, good walks, food, beer.

not sure Holmfirth is the same, but it was beautiful then.
I'm sorry to hear that emmie but very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the Yorkshire countryside and most of its people.
There's some queer beggars amongst us tho, just like every other race, creed and religion.
(For the avoidance of doubt 'queer' is used here as a Yorkshire colloquialism and not in any homophobic context)

Emmie, this problem can be sorted, it should be sorted, by directing our protest to the Country that lost the 2nd W.W. they are dictating to the people who beat them, never mind the bloody EU Ruling, this place is an Island, the place is over populated as it is, direct the scroungers that know this place is a free hand our state & know they will not be refused entry to Europe, there are people here that need work, make them work, instead of Money give them food tokens, they cant spend that in a pub, but no, whilst the likes of the pensioners that have worked for this dumping ground go cold / hungry, the influx will get put up in hotels, guest houses, but one things for sure, they will not loose out. Britain! it like the Cricket team, a Joke, " Door open"
Holmfirth has, shall we say, capitalised on its LotSW fame. Fortunately the tourists stay in the town and leave the picturesque hillsides to us walkers and the sheep, so it's still beautiful.
