Is Anyone Expecting The Unexpected From The Election?

The result seems to be regarded as a given with Labour romping home - but 'givens' have been predicted before and have proven to be wrong.  Does anyone think there could be some surprises - and if so what will they be?

That is a surprise. So not off to California after all?  
Or he might just be fibbing.

He may intend to stay on but usually after losing an election the party leader is changed, in either party.

I am expecting 200 Plus majority  for Labour which is not unexpected it will just be the norm in future elections.

Labour have existed for 124 years in all that time they have been in power for just under 24 years in total. Labour are not the "normal" party of government in this country. They'll have their term, Sir Beer will make history as only the 4th labour leader to win and election. Normal service will be resumed in 2029. End of.

I don't think the Labour majority will be as big as some predict. Conservatives will be the opposition.

Sunak may not be given the option. What party member would want one of the party leaders that ensured their party hit the pits with voters, still hanging around until the next, consequently disastrous, general election ?

I dont think the Cons will even be the opposition .I would like to see them huddled up in the corner behind the other smaller parties  fighting each other for one of the limited seats. Sort of Sunak sitting on the deputy pms shoulders so he can be seen.

A lot of people tend to vote differently in the privacy of the polling booth to what they actually tell pollsters.

This has to be a"hold your nose"election naomi.Tactical voting has to be the key.Up here in Scotland especially if we are to get rid of the hated SNP thieves and crooks.

Sir Jeffrey Donaldson has held the Lagan Valley seat for years.  He won't run again as he is 'strenously contesting' serious charges of a criminal nature.

I wouldn't be surprised if his DUP replacement fails to hold the seat for the party.

Many more votes for Reform than people think; but few, if any, seats because of first-past-the-post.

I think Farage will win in Clacton.

I think the Lib-Dems will benefit from dissatisfied Tories rather than Reform.

As an aside, is Reform actually a political party or more of a lobbying group. It doesn't seem to have a structure. Tice and Farage decided between them who should be leader.

The figures being bandied about are ridiculous. I have no hesitation in saying that I want a Labour government. If that is a workable majority, then I will settle for that.

Personally I think Labour will win by default. 

Ferage and his reform party are only standing to frustrate votes, which will essentially steal votes from the Tories. 

So it's a done deal to me, but I doubt Starmer will thank Ferage for his help.
