Would you in the above circumstances do any different.....you all say that the Royal family is not in contact with the "ordinary person" but when he acts in a non Royal way, he is criticized.
We have a Monarchy, so live with it or change it through "democratic" means..........I dont ask you to like it.

<<<<Hewitt was born in Derry, Northern Ireland, but grew up in Kent[1] and Devon.[citation needed] He was educated at Millfield School and Sandhurst. He served as a Challenger tank commander in the Gulf War, and failed his exam for the rank of Major three times<<<<
I am not sure what you mean by a "wally" but if the above description fits your definition, then yes, he is a "wally"

<<He's one of the better ones, but what annoys me is the charade that both him and his brother are serving military personnel. >>
Charade? One is flying operational air/sea rescue sorties. The other is an army helicopter pilot who may well be flying ops in Afghanistan, although currently doing a 5 day publicity appearance for a worthwhile charity. Give the guys a break. Yes they do get media scrutiny and their every slip is splashed across the news, but there are also thousands of other young men who serve in the forces and also let their hair down when off duty.....we rarely hear about their expoits.
