It is most likely that the weak FA will either give Rooney a strong reprimand or impose a fine upon him.

Neither would be appropriate for this foul; mouthed individual, it is no use hitting the pocket of someone who gets thousands of pounds a week, and a reprimand would just roll off his back.

I say suspend him for a few matches with a loss of pay, but we all know this is not going to happen, in a game that is no longer a game but just big business.

Starbuck, i wasn't being sarky :-(

I was genuinely asking because swearing in public, loudly, really ticks me off and id dearly love to say in my best pompous voice "do you know you're breaking the law by doing that?"

Honestly, i was sincerely asking if it was true.
It didn't help matters that Man Utd appear not to have any PR people with any brains.

The 'apology' from Wayne that they issued may have been appreciated a little more if it hadn't so obviously been written by someone else:

Club official "we want to issue this"
Wayne "Yeah whatever - who gives a ****"

Should the BBC be banned along with the Duke

In 2004, the BBC received a record number of complaints about its decision to broadcast the controversial Jerry Springer: The Opera. It contained 8,000 obscenities including the use of the f-word 200 times and the c-word nine times
Brilliant connection Suspect

Revival of the brilliant 'Jerry Springer - the Opera'

starring: HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and Wayne Rooney

Now that would be worth watching.

/// come now AOG, back in your day this would have been "high jinks" and "boys will be boys", nothing more.///

Not so trigger, only in the company of the 'boys', but not without first checking that there were no females or children around.

Save it for the changing room Rooney.
Save it for the changing room Rooney.
Save it for the palace Duke
save it for errrrrr Leeds fans

FA Cup match a few years ago when the Leeds fans could be clearly heard singing "ITV is fu*kin' Sugar".
how suprising ...not ! a total FA cop out as usual. A 2 games ban he misses Fulham and Man Citeh in the semis, naturally he will appeal and it will be reduced to 1 game and that wont make any difference to Manure and the FA have done their best to keep Manure in the running for the Cup
3 games which is their norm and he appeals and gets it reduced to two but still cant play in the semis
quelle suprise, the FA showing their usual favouritism to the big clubs.
Now now, it's difficult enough to teach a potato to speak without the extra pressure of expecting a wide vocabulary.
There was good and bad news for Wayne Rooney on the front of Monday's Daily Mirror. On the downside, another girl is about to do a kiss-and-tell on him. On the upside, he's really looking forward to that free Gregg's Steak Bake.

If Colleen is upset with him again, his Englad colleagues have said that they will look after her. John Terry has volunteered to be first in.
If you are still about Boo, it is definitely true. Trouble is swearing is so common now that no-one bothers to complain about it. I often feel like shouting wash your dirty mouths out but I am too cowardly to do it.
He should be banned for many matches, and fined at least 6 months pay at least!....such a bad roll model for the children who watch the game!.............
I agree welshy, and children do watch and copy. I noticed when one of the footballers was pictured spitting the children around here thought it was great to spit. Terrible habit!
Should be a reprimand at most. It's an industry, he used industrial language. If Arsenal,City or Chelsea can't win the Premiership on the pitch I suppose they think they
should stoop to any length to win it off the pitch. Grow up, it's a mans game.
Welsh - and you think parents don't swear???
Yes, starbuck, disgraceful!.........he needs a lesson!.......Toxteth boy made good!.....no social graces, obviously!.............he needs some lessons, and soon!........
Glen - If that's a measure of what men do then all I can say is I am glad I am a woman.
I saw the written apology on the news. Too many "big words" surely Rooney didn't write it himself, therefore is not sincere. However, none of the managers are prosecuted and they can be seen mouthing obscenities on the touchline at any game.
Yes Sir Alec, but you can ignore them because you can't actually hear them.so you can't prove what they are saying. It could be good garden peas and gravy for all we know. Unless of course you are a lip reader.
