It was a stupid thing to do, but it looks as though the intent was to vandalise the van, Not to deliberately harm the toddler.

Children are injurred by cars everyday of the year. Also accidentally. Are the drivers scum of the earth?

The person who threw the brick may have been intent on vandalism, but as the vehicle had people inside, it is perfectly foreseeable that a brick hurled at a vehicle's glass could, and most likely would, cause injury to those inside.

From the Press Association Report it is clear the vehicle was the target not the toddler. A small child in a van may not have even been visible. It was foolish and criminal, but it does not look like it was deliberate and evil, as the taBloids have witten the story.

Oh so according to Gromit if a gunman entered a shop only with the sole intention to grab some cash, in the pursuance of this he tried to shoot out the lock of a safe, but in doing so the bullet ricocheted and killed the owner, would the robber not be classed as 'all bad'?

Gromit get a life, I agree with Pinkypie it is time that something was done about the yobo's, & i'm afraid i'm gonna upset a lot of people when I say bring back some form of corporal punishment. Reading this thread it would seem some posters believe taking the law into their own hands and sorting out the thugs is the answer.But didn't Mr Perry stop his van to confront 15 youths himself?
2 questions spring to mind.First what exactly was Mr Perry going to do to pacify 15 youths ? And what exactly , aside from a pointless referendum , would posters suggest is done quickly to solve the problem of anti-social behaviour, in light of the fact ASBOs seem to have been a complete failure.

Throwing a brick at a van is not evil.

It is criminal, and in this case, the unforeseen consequence was a small child was accidently injured.

To go out of your way to deliberately target someone for harm would be evil. To cause them harm by a foolish or ill judged action is not evil.

There are plenty of people who deserve to be called evil, but This was loutishness and nothing more.

I wouldn't be so bold as to say for sure that National Service or return of corporal punishment is the answer, but I'd certainly say these are options that need to be looked into.
It's a downward spiral as the scum breed scrum, the morals and guidance are lost to history and as teachers are forbidden to enforce any guidance, many kids are going completely without.
If it isn't addressed any time soon it will only get worse.
