sara the first time I allowed my 6 year old to go to the local shop, I trailed her, if I showered or bathed she was either in bed asleep or safely in her playpen. I was lucky enough to be trained in childcare so I could see a lot of the dangers.
BTW there is no more proof of a kidnapper being in that apartment than you or I were. They are exploring all the known avenues. kidnap, accident, runaway, what else is there? It's all guesswork for now.
All we can hope and pray for is the safe return of Madeline unhurt in any way. But seriously what are the odds??

sara, here we do not put the bin bags out, and if I took a pee the door was open and I could see her, she went to school several miles away so it was a car job.
These are petty things, leaving a child alone whilst out eating is bad. To quote Kate herself, when she found Maddie missing, "She ran like mad and when the table appeared in sight (?) she screamed "maddies's gone, they've taken Maddie" This does not sound like sitting in one's garden.
