Black women are uglier than whites, Asians, Native Americans...FACT
Satoshi Kanazawa from the LSE published his findings on a blog today which deals in a scientific study on attractiveness which rates black women as physically unattractive compared to other races.

Leaving aside the veracity of his findings (and we can all empirically find many, many exceptions to his 'rule'), can someone explain why such a study needs to be made? What does it tell us? How are we educated/informed by the findings? Are we enriched?
And can something so subjective be measured scientifically? For instance, I think that Uma Thurman is stunningly beautiful, but a mate of mine think she looks like an ironing board that's been taught how to walk upright...so how can beauty or attractiveness be measured?

I agree with OP I find Uma Thurman unattractive too. I would have said that Asian women are unattractive race, but recently I have seen some young asian women/girls, more westernised - who looked really stunning. They say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and yes, it is. But, at the same time beauty doesn't just mean what we see, but what that person is like in character as well. To me, the inner beauty is far more important than the outer beauty. While we women often think slimmer women are more beautiful, many men do not agree and like the fuller figured women more (whew! Thank goodness for that!! lol) We all see beauty differently ... it is "in the eye of the beholder". In my youth people used to tell me I was a beauty. But I never could see that! Today I am most certainly not a beauty, but I am happy with what I see, bar a few pounds or so. I am much kinder to myself today than I was then. But that is down to my ratter15 really. :o)

There are several answers here that I completely agree with, and some that have made me think. For instance, I agree with askyourgran about Somalian women (think of David Bowie's wife, Iman), who generally seem to have a built-in grace, but I honestly can't think of a single race that holds the trump cards in looks (again, I'm being completely subjective).
When we see pictures of women in history they are almost invariably described as beautiful but they rarely are . Mona Liza has been given that accolade as have all of Henry VIIIs wives and Elizabeth I . I once thought black Nubian women were the most beautiful in the world but I must admit I had just spent 3 years in the desert.
Catwalk models are considered beautiful, in reality they are tall, bony, anorexic weirdos .

<<<<white, Asian, black and native American men and women who were asked to rate each other’s attractiveness based on photographs.>>>>
Clearly . there is no racial or sexual bias in the study.
<<<Black women scored lowest, Asian highest.>>>
Fact, based on the trial which one presumes was properly conducted.
"Testosterone levels were fond to be higher in black women"......FACT based on the trial.
Conclusions from the trial:
1) Black women are physically less attractive than other races.
2) Black women have higher levels of testosterone than other races.
I can't see the problem here.

One's perception of physical beauty is completely subjective.
I have never found oriental women attractive.
Likewise black women.
I can objectively see they are attractive, but subjectively I do not find them attractive.
I find Indian women very attractive.
My preferences are Indian, Latino and white. Bit that's all they are - preferences. It doesn't mean black and oriental women aren't attractive per se.
Bit of a pointless study.
