Is having children a good enough reason to escape a prison sentence?

This case has attracted much criticism from the public, both on TV and the radio, and yet on numerous occasions a similar ruling as been made on behalf of Mothers and hardly anyone has lifted an eyebrow.

Personally I cannot see why the mother (who apparently only cares for them at the weekends), cannot have the children while he serves out his sentence.

The Tories are soft on crime. Ken Clarke wants to empty all the prisons and open them up for roller discos at weekends.

Rapist, - no problem! Burglar - Off you go.

The Labour Party filled the prisons in record numbers. They were overflowing. Now the soft Tiries are undoing all that good work.

He was let out solely because of the detrimental impact his imprisonment was having on his children.

The circumstances in which the mother of the children lives have not been mentioned.

It said on the news he was the main carer, he should have thought about that before doing what he did. Seems he was able to find someone to have them while he was out robbing. All I can say is those poor kids :(

All down to their disastrous immigration policy, which imported vast numbers of the worlds criminals into this country.

Would the same privilege had been granted to a murderer or rapist for example.

What about their kids in such cases?

It says in that artcile that the mother of the children already has four children of her own, one with behavioural problems, so cannot take on these children as well. She's an ex anyway so he has care of them.

It would probably cost the state (us) a great deal more to keep the children in care than to keep him in prison.

Boxy - I think it's his current wife that has 4 children. The childrens Mother wasn't really mentioned except to say she has them at weekends.

boxtops, it may cost more to keep him in prison than to have the state care for the children, but, is he learning his lesson by doing the crime but not the time??
