No, apart from the logical reason of why in God's name would any woman want to, there's the no getting away from the fact that men are (usually) far more stronger than us and one tackle from bloke could really do a woman some damage!
I've no real knowledge of where the juristictions lie in professional sports but you'd have thought it'd be fine for a kick-about! Can't understand how she could put a penalty through the keepers legs though! That's some shocking keeping if she did!
If by "football matches" you mean matches under F.A jurisdiction, then no, they shouldn't be allowed to play in mixed matches...........but if you mean "other" matches....then yes...why not?
Women are never going to make it into the top flight because of the physical differences, so it's a bit of a theoretical question. As a woman, I could compete alongside men in a road race (as I did yesterday in the London 10k), and I'm going to beat a fair few of them, but I'm never going to beat the best ones (or the best women either!)
I watched many of the matches in Euro 2005 and would have to say that many of the women playing were certainly the equal of any of the blokes on this forum......and several would have been mightily superior.
If a woman wants to play alongside men and is aware of the risks, why on earth not ?
It's time that the old fossils at the FA were made to realise that this is 21st Century !!
My cousin plays for a top women's team in the United Kingdom though I just don't see the point. Women will never be as good at football as men so what is the point. In my opinion they should stick to things like cooking and looking after the men. Not trying to be one.
