Levi Bellfield refused to appear in the dock for sentencing
Why aren't cowardly criminals like him forced to face the judge for sentencing?

it might be worth pointing out that Bellfield was also charged with trying to abduct an 11-year-old. But the trial had to be abandoned because of saturation media coverage, which the judge said could only have influenced the jury. People who lap this sort of thing up may need to consider whether the stories they're reading actually make it impossible to convict someone.

And would it be ok if he went into court and used it as an opportunity to insult the 'show off', insult the judge, laugh at the victim's family?
What does his non-appearance really matter?
He's a non-entity. A nothing. He's gone down almost certainly for the rest of his life and will have a suitably horrible time in prison.
Remembering Milly is more important than remembering him.
