I raised the question as it was mentioned today on local radio. i was unaware that it was published outside of sport

All of these teams got more penalties than Manchester United last year, who came eigth in the most penalties award table...

Manchester City
Chelsea
Blackpool
Arsenal
Liverpool    
Tottenham Hotspur
West Ham United.

Last year they were 4th. The year before they were 12th.

In short, your grievance is not supported by the facts. A lot more teams get more penalties than Manchester United.
