In view of this and other such incidents, plus the calls for a nation wide ban on the burka falling on deaf ears, I wonder if for security reasons it would be lawful for banks, shops, travel agents etc to ban anyone wearing a burka from entering their premises?

redhelen // The anti muslim among us will see this as another excuse to get rid of anything muslim within the UK's borders!! //
Why do you assume that ? I'm not anti-Muslim but I would ban the wearing of masks, hoods, stocking or the burka if I thought it would save lives, here or abroad .
Last week a burka wearing man and a woman killed and injured 40 odd people including children but you apparently are quite happy for that to happen abroad . How long do you think it willl be before this person kills ?
But then you don't care do you ? In fact you and pixi will support him/her.
if this person graduates to the capacity to kill, do you think a burqa ban would make the difference? golly gosh, i'm all for it.

down with this sort of thing. careful now.
the men who planted bombs on London bus, and trains weren't wearing burkhas. Just a thought.
oh right, yes of course. lets ban rucksacks as well.
oh dear, a criminal went out disguised as Santa

Well, we can easily make sure this sort of thing never happens again, can't we?
Actually I have been in places in New York where rucksacks (well any large bag) were banned even before 9/11

It is nothing to do with being anti muslim it makes perfect sense that anyone trying to hide themselves should not be welcome, be it helmets, burkas, hoodies or whatever. No it wont stop the ardent suicide bomber, nothing will, but it will stop anyone wanting to commit repeated crime.
and no shoes allowed on planes.
anjou, i was making a point, that you don't have to be wearing a burkha to commit a crime. Ban rucksacks why, you could plant a device anywhere in any form of vehicle, so no one is immune from danger.
they will happen again i'm sure, its not a matter of if but when.
my god, we need to ban power rangers as well. is there no end to the criminal mastermind ?

no that's stupid, but i don't suppose the cashiers would have been too thrilled.
so you think we have problems with security,
Airport security officers in Florida patted down a cancer-stricken 95-year-old woman and made her remove her adult 'nappy' during the search.
According to CNN, Jena Weber was travelling with her ill mother on 18 June from Florida to Michigan to see relatives 'in the final stages of her battles with leukaemia', when the incident happened at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport.
i think the cashiers should have suspected that this one was up to no good. he did help build the death star after all.

strange that he got through security, and even stranger that anyone think it funny.
may i ask rehelen pixi and ankou if they think it is right that i have to take my crash helmet off every time i visit my bank.

this is true, a few years back when they started to ban crash helmets in banks
an old mates wife works in a bank and a bloke passed a cheque in, she asked for id and he said i have none

she said i can't cash a cheque for this amount without id
he said you have never asked me before
she said i have never seen you before
he said you serve me every week and have never wanted id
she repeated herself and said i have never seen you before

he then lifted his other hand up to show his crash helmet
she then said i am sorry i never recognised you without your helmet on
started to laugh and gave him his money
i ride motorbikes too, and to be honest as soon as i stop me bike and get off, the helmet comes off too.
that is a good non answer
She would have to insist on his ID now.
it is a local branch and they get the same local people coming in all the time
Dr Filth I am with you. If helmets are to be removed when entering banks etc then I fail to see why the burka can't be. And please, do not tell me it is for religious reasons - it's not
