Is Christine-Blower (the union boss behind today’s teachers’ strike) a typical Left-Wing hypocrite?
/// Last week it emerged that Ms Blower, who once said “I think there is a lot to be said for socialism,” was awarded a 9.1 per cent rise last year, taking her annual pay and benefits package to £133,871.///
That's almost a staggering £2,575 per week, not bad for a capitalist hating socialist.
Socialism does not necessarily 'hate' capitalism. Indeed, in the modern world they have frequently worked together.

Market socialism consists of publicly owned or cooperatively owned enterprises operating in a market economy. It is a system that utilizes the market and monetary prices for the allocation and accounting of the means of production, thereby retaining the process of capital accumulation. The profit generated would be used to directly remunerate employees or finance public institutions.[36] In state-oriented forms of market socialism, in which state enterprises attempt to maximise profit, the profits can be used to fund government programs and services through a social dividend, eliminating or greatly diminishing the need for various forms of taxation that exist in capitalist systems. Yugoslavia implemented a market socialist economy based on cooperatives and worker self-management.
Taeko has reopened her pharmacy and returned to her Tokyo apartment with her daughter who is now recovered. However there is still disruption to some utilities while rebuilding and repairs go on.
She forwarded a copy of the kind wishes from ABers to some friends and family who were evidently quite moved and delighted that people so far away nwould be thinking of them.
Sadly, Taeko's friends in the Tsunami area who were missing have been confirmed dead. I've asked her about ongoing fears for radiation etc but can't get any sense out of her on that subject! Maybe it's suppressed or repressed by people there?
Anyway, thanks again for your idea and to everyone who added their thoughts - they were deeply appreciated when forwarded to Japan.
no one knows, but the various reports i have seen, don't paint a particularly good picture of her, in terms of support. Once up the greasy pole, the trick is how to stay there, at least until the next person comes along
