Scottish Independence
Who do the BBC think they are standing for the establishment on who will decide whether Scotland should be independent.
It is for the Scottish people alone to decide their nation's future.
We do not need England's approval nor their permission.
Since the "parcel of rogues" sold Scotland out in the treaty of union the Scots have not had the courage nor will to go their own way, but the nervousness of the Westminster establishment about losing Scotland and all it has to offer now is heightening the debate.
Long overdue is a sensible debate among the Scots; it is no one else's business!

And of course, you are right that it is down to the scottish people whether to a/ have a referendum and b/ vote for independence - but it is and should be very much of interest to all citizens of the United Kingdom, so there views and thoughts are valid and of interest .

It may not have been widely reported south of the border but the BBC commissioned a poll among English voters on several questions relating to the independence of Scotland, including whether there should be a second referendum in England to agree or not with the decision of the Scottish electorate.
The chairman of the company who carried out this poll also stated that there was no such thing as Scottishness!!!!!.
Which clowns do you have running the BBC to employ such fools?

alexandered, there will be a referendum and the Scottish people will decide.
The people are sovereign in this as in all matters in Scotland.
EU membership will be a matter for them, but I would be in support.
count-a strong, the people as sovereign is a cardinal principle in Scotland not a variety of European "royal" families by whom you are pleased to be reigned over and subject to.
