Some councils ban breast feeding in public buildings such as reception areas and libraries.
Do you agree with banning or is it natural?

" Young woman, probably smoking" ... I'm rolling with laughter! That was like a piece of writing from Viz! :0)
Top & bottom of it is ... feeding your baby is natural & a priority. Feed your baby 'discreetly' Be modest & have respect for others around you who just 'may' feel differently to 'you'.

I think no-one objects to a baby being fed - only if it is done in such a way that the mother appears to be deliberately drawing attention to her action, in order to cause confrontation.
My middle daugher breast-fed her baby at our house - admittedly under a blanket but she would insist on doing so in the lounge, with my in-laws sitting there. My F-I-L is 85, and of a generation where breastfeeding was a mystery to any man, so I felt annoyed at her for doing this in front of him, knowing how shy he is, and also for the rest of us. There are a number of empty rooms she could have used - i saw it as the attention-seeking to which people object.
However, as I have mentioned before, I started talking to a lady at a festival, and it was several minutes before I realised she had started breastfeeding her baby before i sat down. I thought she was simply cuddling him, so we both acted as though that was in progress - no problem at all.
Like all behaviour in public - actions should be adapted to place and company - it's as simple as that.

Ah at last after posting a question with no news link, and then witnessing that the thread isn't going the way he wanted, he posts a follow up question this time mentioning religion.
Still not right yet, so then at last he gets down to the 'nitty gritty' and enters his Daily Mail link.
Now we all know it is down to the Muslims objecting once again, this time regarding breast feeding.
Why couldn't Gromit have come clean from the start?

i'm with BOO on this. absolutely and completely.
why does breasfeeding a baby in public always get compared to having a pee, poo, changing a nappy or having sex in public? quite clearly these have absolutely no comparison to breastfeeding and it belittles peoples argument to make such comparisons.
you don't like it? then look away. some mothers feel they have to make a point by feeding in public because so many people are so anti. if it were accepted as the norm then there would be no need for anyone to have to try and make a point, indeed, there would be no point to make.
