Some councils ban breast feeding in public buildings such as reception areas and libraries.

Do you agree with banning or is it natural?

"f I got my JT out and peed in public (even if I was shielding the action from public view) I'd get hauled before the courts, so why should women be any different? "

Stupid argument and you know it joe, you'd get arrested (probably/hopefully!) because there are such things as public toilets, you just' aren't using them. As far as I know, there isn't any designated breastfeeding rooms in public buildings, so women have to feed where they can.
Boxy...I have been in a ladies toilet before actually but that's another story!

I used to work in a large building which had a HMRC enquiry centre on it's ground floor......women visiting the centre would regularly breast feed in the buildings foyer and many also used to dump dirty nappies outside the main doors
Boo....I'm talking about being caught short, just like when these babies need feeding in an 'emergency' (can't see why they can't wait til they get the baby home, it won't come to any harm if it has to cry for a while)
joeluke, you have been in a ladies' toilet? With all those women breastfeeding in there? Perhaps you are protesting too much.
Im with Boo totally!!! we just don't need full frontal exposure when feeding and I have never witnessed that, feeding Mums are nearly always discrete and keep their breast covered.
And I bet you don't raise an eyebrow if you are in the vicinity of a screaming child, eh, joeluke?

I bet you lean over tickle him under the chin and congratulate his mother for taking your sensibilities into account rather than feeding a hungry and distressed child........?

Well done, you........
well, it's interesting that if joeluke has needs he's entitled to use the ladies, but if a baby has needs it can darn well wait...
actually Boo, I think the law permits a man to pee against the passenger rear wheel of a vehicle and a woman to ask for the use of a policeman's helmet for that as well.

I was having a coffee this morning, working on my pc, when an Aussie came in with a little one and upped her jumper to latch her on. Actually, I have no issue with it and the babe was very quiet as a result.

I would probably have a reaction (and have done so overseas) If I saw a woman going for the boob with a late-two year old or even older (obviously not as old as JJ's boyfriend - lol). The "boundary" is probbably when they go over to solids.....
Also in this modern age there is such a thing as expressing off milk into a bottle and taking it out with you in your bag ladies....add a small flask of boiling water and a small jug and hey presto you have everything you need
Or you can just carry it about in a single handy but hands-free container which keeps it a just the right temperature and in the right quantities......
Personally I've never classed them as 'hands free'.......
of course it would be easier just to take a cow with you.
lmao @ Jack!!!

Actually, i think faced with people like Joe I'd be quite militant about wapping 'em out to feed a baby, just to see the look of disgust on their faces, it'd be priceless!
They have to be 'hands-free' sometimes, joeluke........I'd never get work done, otherwise....
'of course it would be easier just to take a cow with you'

Sister? Sister-in-law? Mother?
I breastfed both my kids - I would never do it in public because I and my then husband revered my breasts too much.
pardon smart? Revered 'em?? Eh?
I suppose they could look like the dome of St Paul's... in a way... all the same, I'd stop short of worshipping them myself.
Just a quick thankyou to all those of you who agreed with me
Personally I think Joeluke wouldn't know where to look and would die of embarrassment, that's why he is so against it lol
