I have just read most of the posts about Amy Winehouse. I shall miss her voice and the person she was, yes, even with her demons.

Most of all I feel so sad for her parents, they had tried so hard to bring her back from the edge, I guess she didn't want to listen oh Amy, Amy Amy!

I do realise that there are many parents who for many reasons (illness, war et al) that do have to say goodbye to their children but in the great scheme of things this is surely the wrong way round.

So to Amy's parents, the 23rd psalm:

Amy was diagnosed as a manic depressive but refused to take any mediation for it. Perhaps if she had it might have been a different story. So sad, poor girl, and a lovely kind girl say all those who really knew her. Enough with the nasty comments.

What I am saying is illigal drugs do no one any good and in fact ruin the lives of those who do and dont take drugs. One drug user ruins the lives of many people. So having a bad start in life is a good reason to start taking them.. im sorry but I dont think so, and that is my opinion. I take back my question 'name me one person' as this should have been worded differently (I also though it was a good responce. I do feel sorry for her family and I am not incompassionate, as quoted by herself, she wanted to die. She was also given help which she did not take. I expected the response would be against me as the title was with respect so would have many drug user fans and for this reason I will not be making any more comments. I am a little disapointed that instead of answering questions members avoided the debate and just used schoolyard names.

Yes it was how I expected, to get a good idea of peoples views it sometimes has to be done when you know the group will possibly be one sided, so my opinions which I will continue on another post are not one sided. Maybe my 'scum' comment should have referred to the acts of taking and the 'dark' side, however people who have experienced being wrong done by a drug user may not agree.

I suggest starting another thread just for opinions on drug use. This is not the place for it-as the title of this thread suggests.
SOTERIOS-you refer to those who seem to hold a different opinion as 'drug user fans'. I doubt any of the responses here reflect that sort of opinion. We are simply expressing compassion for those who get caught up in this-that is in no way approval.

Pasta, I have been referred to as idiot, pond life etc for expressing my opinion which more than just me agree. All the comments made have been in favour of drugs rather than also accepting the dark side which affects non users. Yes the title says with respect but is not specific, if it was with respect for her family then yes I would not have commented, if it was for her fans to add tributes, same again but respect for her NO. This is due to her own wish being granted.
