Last week we discussed multiculturism . Is Tottenham an example or isn't it a factor.

Just noticed that my link was removed, how can one put up an opposing argument if one can only use 'approved' links?

I warned everyone beforehand and admitted that some content was rather extreme, but if links are now to be censored what is the point?

It would be interesting for someone to enter a question on should there be censorship, even if one disagrees with the content, providing of course that it is not illegal or obscene?
Couldn't agree more em10, but at the time it was still a lawful march, and agree with his politics or not, it should still have been allowed to take place.

Gromit tried to make the association between Mosley and the EDL, but that just does not hold water.

It is only the 'Stalinist Left' that has hung the 'Fascist' label onto the EDL, in their time honoured way of labelling all those that disagree with them.

It should be noted that it is them who are the 'Fascists'.

/// Fascism definition, a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, ///
<<AOG, that's an interesting read! Were those who fought with improvised weapons and who threw the contects of chamber pots not white then? ... or are you arguing with yourself a little on this one? >>

paul, perhaps 'The Battle of Cable Street' was whipped up by Jews, 'foreigners', Socialists and others the EDL of the day probably considered 'undesirables'.
gromit, your list seemed to miss the bristol tesco riots.

<<the association between Mosley and the EDL, but that just does not hold water. >>

True. Mosley was an educated b@stard in a Savile Row suit.

The EDL is led by ignorant b@stards dressed by jd sports or off-the-back-of-a-lorry
"Gromit tried to make the association between Mosley and the EDL, but that just does not hold water. "

I rather think it does.
The former demonised Jews, the latter, despite unconvincing claims to the contrary, demonise Moslems. If the EDL wants to make a positive contribution to opposing Islamic extremism there are 101 more positive things it could do than organise inflammatory marches in areas with high Moslem populations.
Sir Oswald must be spinning in his grave.

He always had the good taste to employ others to do this sort of thing

<<The founder of the English Defence League (EDL) has been charged with assault following an altercation at a rally in Lancashire.

Stephen Lennon, also known as Tommy Robinson, was arrested in connection with a brawl at the EDL demonstration in Blackburn on 2 April.

On Wednesday, he was charged with one count of common assault.>>
Ankou

I stopped the list at pre-WWII riots because AOG said there was no riots before the immigrants arrived. I figured that was in the 50s.
think you will find the police are picking on the leaders of both edl and unite to try and shut them up

oh i see.

you also forgot the st scholastica day riot. a terrible time with those oxford students.
<<think you will find the police are picking on the leaders of both edl and unite to try and shut them up >>

Yes, perhaps they'll stop them in a mini cab sometime soon?
make that two cabs can't see them going dutch
he sounds just as bad as the EDL leader, why don't we stick them all in a field, preferably somewhere so far away and let them slug it out, then the rest of the sensible people, those who want to have a normal, quiet life, can get on with it. Sick of the lot of them.
AOG, re: link removal.

Websites are assessed by Google and other search engines by what they're linking to, a link heading out from your site says to Google or others "I approve of this site" (or feeling to that effect).

One thing which you can be penalised for is the promotion of racial hatred. This seemed to be the thrust of the article in your link. Thus it was removed. The AnswerBank does not wish to be associated with such groups.

It's less to do with stifling debate but more to do with our reputation online as a site of good standing.
^^^^^

Strange you allow links to the Daily Mail then.
Ah that sounds fair, although it is a pity it couldn't remain as text to copy & paste ? Or does that achieve the same end ?
Gromit, you post enough of them, links to DM that is.
That would do it Old Geezer

Google just track links (so far as we know .......)

Not that some of its members have extreme views as wit this thread.
