500 young people arrested and most will be charged, so that's another few hundred that will never be eligible for work due to their now forthcoming police record and will possibly for the rest of their life will be getting dhss handouts some of that coming from the people who's businesses they've destroyed, what scum these are

They should be forced to work for several years and their wages automatically put into a fund set up for all those that that lost out.

And how many of those 500 do you think ACTUALLY work?

Or how many either live on benefits or have a business of drug dealing or other criminal activity?

It would be interesting to see a breakdown of those arrested by age, sex, ethnic background, if in work etc

Some of these young people were reportedly as young as 11 - presumably too young to be charged with anything. Where are the parents?

And what else do you think they would have been doing? These are 99% likely to be career dole recipients. We need tear gas and water canon in use, it might "hurt" a few, so what?

"Where are the parents?" Some at work unaware that their kids were on the streets and other parents under the influence of alcohol, drugs or just not caring.

there has been some info floating around of some of these people who do work, but not sure who posted it, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least, sometimes those caught up in these riots, as we have seen endless times in London, come from good homes, backgrounds, with steady jobs, or at Uni.

Em that's true many of the looters are unemployed, employed as well as university and college students with a heavy sprinkling of criminals.

DT, wrong on every count, the armed services don't want lowlifes like these, they want those who can do the job, fit in, and be part of a team, back up their comrades 100 percent, none of those qualities seem to apply in their case.

I agree em why should the low life be inflicted on the army ? Also who would voluntary join the army knowing it was filled with criminals.
No one would like to be known as an ex-serviceman. I spent 8 years in the army when we had conscription and the small number of scumbags were a problem but at least they were few in number.
On the other hand if a tough army regime was imposed in our prisons there might be less offending.

I know the army is out of the question and it was a cynical comment. How about deportation to a nice remote Scottish Island or even a distant empty colonial one - we have those islands deep in the Pacific that was a US air base......

Sadly, as is said on another thread, these bruvvas were probably born and bred here - they aren't recent immigrants, they live here.

What we need is a NON PC band of big fellas with hobnail boots and big sticks to make these scum yobbos work at cleaning up and making them work for nothing for a couple of years. Make them wish they were never born.
