With Manchester kicking off, there's a danger that pictures may show many of the rioters to be white.

If that turns out to be the case, what will be the reaction from the racists who have been muttering 'rivers of blood' and 'perils of mass immigration'?

If there's a lack of black and Asian faces in the forthcoming pictures, should we have a 12 hour moratorium before demanding an explanation to give them time to come up with (the inevitably feeble) excuse?

The Manchester, Tottenham, Croydon etc etc etc disasters are down to nothing but greedy, violent, anarchistic people of all colours who cock a snook at authority and don't give a jot for anyone but themselves. IMO scum by any other name! Let's not make this out to be something it isn't.

Why are you turning what is criminality into what isn't a racist action? There have been whites and Asians and blacks shown on tv all over the last three days. Criminals are criminals, doesn't matter what race or creed they are!

I hope this isn't the case, but apparently Liverpool is also seeing disturbances. Again, it's questionable as to whether there will be many blacks/Asians in the area...but we'll see.
Well, I saw some of it first hand as I got caught up in the middle of some of it before I managed to get the hell out of the city centre. I can confirm that there were plenty of white rioters involved.

A response to the post below. There are people with certain political/social beliefs who have already played the race card. If the riots have spread to predominantly white areas, then they should explain whether their presumptions are faulty.
quite honestly i dont care what colour they are, what i do care about is that " we " have lost a generation of young people who IMO will not change their views re the police, government, :(
have you ever been in manchester sp1814

Good that you got out...however it's disgraceful that people are now literally under a self-imposed curfew!

Only at night and only to Canal Street.
Manchester's predominantly white??
Manchester cops have been shifted off to London, apparently.

Daisya, plenty of people have made unsupported comments already about race; sp1814 is entitled to make the opposite point.

Let's wait for the pictures to come out. I was pretty certain that Birmingham would be a black-led riot, because it it started in Handsworth.

However, when I've been to Manchester and Liverpool, I've found the racial mix to be far less diverse than the parts of London I know.
The pictures coming out of Manchester before the BBC cameraman was attacked showed predominantly white criminals. A BBC radio car was also attacked and set on fire, so it looks like media and photographers are being targetted.

Sp. Maybe the white dudes have been influenced by black rap music.
Of course theri are whites involved....I have seen them on the telly. The whites also have their criminal classes but in these cases are just hangers on inspired by the black community.
we have a very large mix here sp1814

so sp1814 you think these white rioters would have rioted anyway and of their own accord if they hadnt seen the blacks who started all this already rioting in London.

Thank you!

If anyone would like to use the 'influenced by black people / rap music' excuse for this picture, then I as a self-proclaimed 'leftie' will hold no grudge:
