In the light of his son being killed in the Birmingham riots, no one can imagine what he is going through, he tried valiantly to resuscitate his boy without success, it is he that will be shown as a pillar of his community on the red tops and the broad sheets, not the scum that were responsible for the mindless thuggery , turning in on their own communities.

Perhaps it is a timely reminder to many of us to moderate our language and our reactions to many of the things that happen, dreadful though they may be.

This man is behaving an a normal, civilised manner. Thinking before he speaks. He is, actually, a typical moslem in this regard. It's my experience however that most people behave like this in the face of personal tragedy - it is of great benefit to all though that he has chosen to voice his feelings publicly. That is the thing,

" killing babies " this gentleman has shown great dignity.
ichkeria, I can't agree that it's "normal", surely there can't be a "normal" in such extreme circumstances.
I've massive respect for this man, he's shown all these pathetic little boys what being a man really is and his son has clearly made him a very proud father.
"chkeria, I can't agree that it's "normal", surely there can't be a "normal" in such extreme circumstances"

There can. That is exactly my point: are you suggesting that calling for revenge would be "normal?" But just because it is "normal" doesn't mean it is not worthy of the highest admiration.

who has mentioned 'killing babies'???

I honestly think calling for revenge would be understandable in the circumstances, and the dignity shown by this man is way above my expectations. As I said, I wouldn't consider anything to be normal because even the most extreme of reactions would be in some way understandable given the man had just lost his youngest son.
But hey, it doesn't really matter, this point is clearly subjective.
Well?

Aren't you lot going to critise him cos the fact courageous Mr Tariq Jahan is a "Muslim" ?

I am shocked you're all actually speaking highly of a "muslim" person on here...
Question Author
you can't speak for everyone on here MrMister
I'm not speaking for everyone, Bobbisox. But Muslims are quite often slagged off on here.
Question Author
yes I suppose they are by a few ,but you really cannot generalize and think everyone shouldn't be saying what a brave man Mr Tariq Jahan really is
"I honestly think calling for revenge would be understandable in the circumstances,"

Understandable no doubt but, like I say, not normal - at least not in my experience, either personally or when considering similar incidents before, often in N. Ireland for example. I think in particular of the father of Michael McGoldrick slain by loyalists some years ago, who made a very similar statement. In fact, off the top of my head I can't think of a single instance of anyone in Britain or Ireland publicly calling for revenge. But as I said before, that doesn't make the sentiment anythin other than highly admirable, especially as one might, perhaps, think a contrary reaction to be more natural.
im sorry you feel that Mr.. quite honestly dignified is dignified whatever anyones religion is. IMO
This gentleman is an example to all of us.
As are the parents of Jimmy Mizzen another young man who's death was unnecessary.
They should be recognised for their dignity in some way
It is a bad day for AOG.

First his beloved EDL rain missiles and bottles onto police and then a Muslim Gentleman becomes a national hero. No wonder he is laying low.
gromit someone like him would make a good pm
A hero is a hero, whatever his colour, faith etc, lets not stoop to low levels when we are discussing this brave man.
